About the event

Do you have a favourite Japanese novel, Korean film, manga, memoir or other story that stayed with you?

During this friendly cultural meetup, each participant will have the opportunity to introduce a favourite book or movie from Japan or South Korea. You can tell the group what it is about, why you enjoyed it and what makes it meaningful or interesting to you.

Together, we will exchange recommendations and explore Japanese and Korean culture through literature and cinema. You do not need to be an expert, and there is no formal presentation required. Simply come prepared to talk informally about your chosen book or film.

You are also welcome to bring the book with you or show an image of its cover or the film poster on your phone.

The meetup will be hosted entirely in English, and participants are expected to be comfortable speaking and joining the conversation in English.

This event is organized by the Japanese & Korean Club in Apeldoorn. By registering for this event, you consent to the club organizers contacting you via email regarding this workshop and other club activities.

Duration: 1.5 hours (from 11.00 to 12.30)

Price: 5 € per person. 

The price includes tea, coffee, and sweets.

Cancellation policy:

• Cancellations made up to 7 days before the workshop are eligible for a 50% refund (processed within 14 days after the event date)

• Cancellations less than 7 days before the workshop: no refund

• If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your spot to someone else (please inform us in advance)

• In the unlikely event that the workshop is cancelled by the organiser, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule
